In exactly 48 hours our plane will be backing away from the ramp... we'll be on our way to the Netherlands. What a privilege to be on a team of staff and students participating in Christ's big world-wide mission! Studying Matthew 9 and 10 lately, I have been struck by how intentional Jesus is about sending out his 12 close followers, the first in a series of sending missions that we are now participating as we 14 fly across the pond.
I'm excited to get a little lost in new cities, to eat unusual foods, and to figure out public transportation. I'm excited to ask Dutch students what they believe, to learn how to better communicate Christ to them, and to meet Dutch Christians whose lives are being transformed by Christ. I'm excited to experience a movement of Dutch students who have the potential to transform the spiritual life of their whole nation.
Perhaps I'm most excited to see our team change. Over this week we each are going to get a clearer picture of who God is and how he is at work around the world. And we are going to be made more a part of his plan to bless the whole world. This is an experience that will last a lifetime.
I'm not excited about how little leg room there is on a plane for a tall guy like me!
